As four major sanctioning bodies agree on radical changes, Tyson Fury and Joshua vs Usyk are closer

TYSON FURY has been given a boost in his pursuit of the undisputed title of heavyweight boxer after a meeting with four of the governing bodies.

If he can overcome fellow Brit Dillian Whyte, the WBC king hopes to be part of a unification bout later next year.

It seems that his path to undisputed heavyweight champion might be a bit easier after a meeting with the heads of WBC, WBO and IBF.

The quartet stated in a joint statement that they were very productive today, particularly in discussing a future agreement to standardize the title unification process.

If Fury can overcome Whyte the Brixton banger, his last hurdle to undisputed status is going to be in the form Oleksandr Usyk or Anthony Joshua.

AJ will attempt to reclaim the unified Heavyweight titles from the Ukrainian in the early part of next year, but a date has yet to be set.

Fury vs Whyte's release date, which is expected to take place next month, has yet not been established.

Team Fury is planning a March homecoming of The Gypsy King.

Bob Arum, the Brit's copromoter, said to Sky Sports that Fury would decide who Fury fights next.

Sky Sports' he stated that if the fight takes place in the UK, I believe Whyte would be a good candidate, along with Joyce."

"It is extremely important that Tyson, after having done his five last fights in the US that he does a fight here.

He is a Brit and has many fans in the UK. If he fights in the UK, then he returns to the USA, he will bring 10,000 Brits along. American fans need to learn how to sing like the Brits.

"Frank Warren will be going to Manchester to meet Fury in order to arrange a date.

It could be March, April or May, but not later than April.

"A date that would appeal to us in the US even if it took place in the UK would be in April middle because there is a college basketball tournament called March Madness, which the country loves. It's difficult to find a date [during March Madness].

"We will find out who and when Tyson will be fighting next."
