CANELO ALVAREZ warned Caleb Plant about his speed and power during a training session.
The pound-for pound king will take on the American in an important-money super-middleweight title unified bout on Saturday. He showed his skills in an August clip that will serve to remind us that Plant is not going to have an easy ride.
Canelo Alvarez demonstrated his explosive speed and power during a workout with Eddy Reynoso
The showdown was not reached in the early stages of negotiations, which disappointed boxing fans all over the globe.
However, negotiations were successful and the fight took place on November 6.
Canelo continued to train hard with Eddy Reynoso in the gym despite the defeat.
He posted a video on his Instagram of him performing offensive and defensive drills alongside his Mexican counterpart.
Canelo displayed blistering hand speed, cracking the pads and blocking his coach's return shots.
As he mixed vicious power left hooks and fast straight punches, the 31-year old's shuddering power was evident.
Reynoso finished the drill with a horrible hook and told Canelo that 'Eso bien' meant 'that's great' in English.
Fans of boxing were stunned by the speed and ferocity of the unified 168lb champion. One said: "Frightening."
Another person said, "Trains like someone who doesn't know how many $ he has in his bank, insane, relentless hunger."
Another: "There's a reason that he's the goat. He drills the basics almost religiously."
One person commented, "Monster at work."
Canelo, real name Saul Alvarez, was originally scheduled to face Plant in Las Vegas on Sept 18.
Plant, undefeated, claimed that the Mexican mauler caused the collapse of the mouthwatering bout. He told ESPN: "Canelo was given the best guarantee of his career.
He was expected to make $40 Million plus Mexican TV rights and his Hennessy Sponsorship.
"No problem, let’s fight. We gave it to them, and then they wanted upside on gate and PPV revenues; no problem, let’s rumble.
"It was always agreed that it would be a title unification; there was no rematch for either of the fighters.
"Towards the end, they requested a rematch if they lose.
"I wonder if their true motive is money or legacy."
