Feuding Pair Set to Face Off After Years of Bickering
BOXING promoter Ben Shalom has likened making Chris Eubank Jr’s fight against Conor Benn to a car crash.
The feuding pair finally agreed to fight last month after years of bickering. Eubank Jr and Benn will collide on April 26 at Tottenham’s 62,000-seater stadium.
The Journey to Setting Up the Fight
The scrap was axed when Benn failed two Voluntary Anti-Doping Association Tests. Benn, 28, later had to prove his innocence and get his career back on track. Meanwhile, Eubank, 35, continued his career with wins against Liam Smith and Kamil Szeremeta.
Shalom's Inside Look at the Negotiations
Boxxer founder and fight promoter Shalom revealed the challenges faced in setting up the Eubank Jr vs Benn fight. Negotiations were described as a "car crash" due to the animosity between the fighters. However, with the help of Turki Al-Sheikh, the bout was finally confirmed.
