Under the promotion of Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom, the two men met in a WBA junior boxing title unification bout.

Kyoguchi, however, was able to overcome two point deductions and defeat Bermudez. The fight was stopped at 28 seconds into round 8 at Domo Alcalde in Guadalajara (Mexico).

After delivering a variety of combinations, Kyoguchi attracted blood very early in the clash.

The Tokyo champion unbeaten continued to use his left hook, opening up a cut above the eye of his opponent and bloodying his nose.

Bermudez was forced to visit the ringside physician towards the end, after another cut to his forehead.

His face turned into a crimson mess when Kyoguchi continued his dominance, even though he couldn't find a knockout punch.

Both men were warned by the official to refrain from headbutting at the start of the sixth. Kyoguchi was then deducted one point, despite the fact that Bermudez initiated forehead-toforehead exchanges.
