Bob Arum, a promoter insists that The Gypsy King will be out of retirement to face Joshua 2.
Bob Arum, the promoter of Wythenshawe's warlord, insists that he will put on his gloves to fight for the undisputed title with the winner from Saturday night’s Saudi showdown.
Sky Sports spoke to the 89-year old: "Absolutely, it's really Tyson Fury's only fight that makes sense.
"I have discussed this with Frank Warren, my co-promoter for Fury. Once this fight is over, we're going put together a complete unification match between Tyson Fury and the winner.
"Now, if Usyk wins, which I expect it to be, that will not be difficult because we're very near to the Usyk people since they're the same people who manage Vasyl Limachenko, who fights for me.
"If Joshua wins, Eddie Hearn is his promoter. Hearn and I have spoken many times about different matches. We are sure that we will be able to work together on this one.
Arum admitted that Fury is still changing his mind daily about returning to the ring.
According to Fury, the veteran promoter stated: "I have spoken with Fury and each day is different. But he is a fighter and if there is the right fight then Fury will fight."
"The correct fight is the unification against the winner Usyk or Joshua, and I believe - based upon my conversations with Fury -- he'll be up to that challenge.
"How long he will continue to pursue that, god only knows, and I don't know, but I am confident that he'll answer that bell for that major fight."
A Joshua victory in Saudi will open the door to a long-awaited Battle of Britain against WBC heavyweight king Fury. However, Arum doesn’t see AJ beating the slick southpaw Usyk.
He stated that he liked Usyk's fight and thought he was a better boxer. Joshua can beat him, if he presses for the action. But Usyk is a good puncher.
"I don’t think Joshua can win if he only trades punches and scuffles with Usyk. That's Joshua's best chance, I think.
"I like Usyk a lot in this fight, but heavyweight boxing is unpredictable and anything could happen."
"It's an interesting fight and it should make a great fight, but all things being equal, I prefer the Ukrainian boy to win and keep his title."
