Boxing Legend Katie Taylor Celebrates with Ed Sheeran After Epic Triumph Over Chantelle Cameron

Katie Taylor, the Irish boxing legend, celebrated her epic triumph over Chantelle Cameron with none other than pop superstar Ed Sheeran. The victory marked Taylor's two-weight undisputed glory, and her father Pete is now calling for a Croke Park trilogy.

Katie Taylor's Revenge

Just six months ago, Cameron dealt Taylor her only professional loss. However, Taylor made a gutsy comeback by winning their rematch at Dublin's 3Arena on Saturday. The majority decision victory avenged her defeat in May, and she celebrated her triumph alongside Grammy-winning musician Ed Sheeran.

A Trilogy at Croke Park

Katie's father and former coach Pete is urging promoters, the GAA, and the Government to make her dream of a trilogy at Croke Park a reality. Pete, who coached Katie to gold at the London 2012 Olympics, believes she deserves the opportunity after her impressive performance.

Past Hurdles

Katie has longed to headline a historic showdown at GAA HQ, but previous attempts have been hindered by a costs dispute. Talks broke down over security costs, with the GAA expecting Matchroom to cover them. However, with Taylor and Cameron now tied at 1-1, Katie is determined to make the trilogy happen at Croke Park.

Eddie Hearn's Plea

Promoter Eddie Hearn is pleading with GAA bosses and the Irish Government to help make the Croke Park fight a reality. Hearn had previously tried to arrange a fight between Amanda Serrano and Taylor at the iconic venue. He believes Taylor, Ireland's "greatest ever athlete," deserves to fight in front of 80,000 fans at Croke Park before retiring.

A Financial and Compassionate Case

Hearn argues that hosting the event would be a financial success for Ireland's tourism industry. He is asking the GAA and Government to understand the compassion behind granting this opportunity to their greatest athlete. Hearn emphasizes that they are not asking for special treatment but rather for the costs to be in line with other major stadiums worldwide.

Should the collaboration happen, it would be a truly memorable moment in Irish sports history.
