In the Corner
Diego Arrua, the boxing coach and husband of Sabrina Perez, has tragically passed away at the age of 58. Arrua suffered a heart attack while in the corner for his wife's world title fight against Skye Nicolson on Friday night.
Heart Attack in the Ring
Arrua collapsed between the ninth and tenth rounds of the interim WBC featherweight title fight at the Auditorio Municipal Fausto Gutierrez in Mexico. Despite efforts to revive him, Arrua did not recover from the "devastating" heart attack.
Tributes Pour In
WBC president Maurico Sulaiman confirmed Arrua's passing on Twitter, expressing deep sadness. Matchroom Boxing, the promoter of the fight, also paid tribute to Arrua and extended their condolences to Perez and her loved ones.
Perez's Loss
Perez went on to suffer a unanimous decision defeat to Nicolson, with the judges scoring the contest in favor of the Australian. It is likely that Perez was not present in the ring when the result was read out, as she raced backstage to be with her late husband.

Outpouring of Support
Boxing fans from around the world took to social media to express their condolences and offer prayers to Perez and her family. The news of Arrua's passing has deeply saddened the boxing community.
This is a developing story. Stay tuned for updates.
