Josh Taylor controversially retained his light-welterweight title on Saturday night
Victor Laughlin and Ian John Lewis, both experienced judges caused outrage within the boxing community. BBOBC has now asked the pair to explain how they scored the bout.
Robert Smith, the General Secretary of BBOBC, told The Daily Telegraph that they will investigate it.
"There were some close rounds. It was very close. We will be looking at the reports of the judges this week.
"Our judges were honest and scored it exactly as they saw it. "I was there and Catterall beat it."
Catterall, who was devastated by Taylor's death, put in a great performance on enemy territory. Many thought that he had done enough to end Taylor’s reign as the undisputed 140lb king.
On Instagram, the 28-year old wrote: "You know what hurts most? It wasn't for you, I did all of this to my family, my team, and my hometown.
"My baby girl, and our future. Today, I should have been waking up with all the belts. I was 15 months old when they gave me the ring.
"F **ke me in every possible way for more than two years, finally won the fight.
"I sacrificed everything to fight one the top p4p fighters. It taught me a lesson. What? Boxing shame on yours."
Taylor, a Prestonpans pounder, looked like he was a shell of the fighter who defeated Jose Ramirez last September. However, he insists that he did more than enough for his titles to be retained.
He stated that he thought he'd done enough. I began slowly as I tried to find my timing.
He was taking the larger shots. He tried to spoil the party, he lean in a lot and there were clashes of heads.
"I don't lie, he caught my eye with a few good shots.
It wasn't my best performance. With the homecoming and my first fight in three years, I was under a lot of pressure.
"I put too much pressure on my self to put on a great show, but it didn’t matter in the final. It was close. It was very close.
"I gave him some success by loading up, but I scored the most meaningful shots.
He said, "He put on a great fight, but he knows that he didn’t win the fight." In the second half, I took control."
