CANELO ALEZ left Caleb Plant bleeding from the eye after they brawled at a press conference.
The pair announced Monday that they had reached a deal to fight at Las Vegas in November, to unify super-middleweight.
Caleb Plant suffered a cut below his right eye from a brawl with Canelo alvarez at a press conference.
The massive fight was not publicized until Tuesday, when chaos erupted in Beverly Hills.
After they had exchanged words, Canelo abruptly pushed Plant backwards.
In retaliation, the 29-year-old American threw a punch to his Mexican counterpart.
Canelo, 31, the 31-year-old pound-for-pound king, showed lightning quick reactions to avoid the hook. He lit up Plant with an amazing counter-punch and left him with a severe cut under his right eye.
Canelo's left hand shows what lies ahead for the 21-0 Plant who was injured by the shot.
According to ESPN reporter Mike Coppinger, the Tenessee fighter sustained a gash in his right eye that could lead to the fight being postponed.

Plant was criticized by a fan who commented on the matter: "Serves him well for trying to hit Canelo cheaply." Canelo counters with elite head movement.
Another commentator added, "Who threw first punch?" You can't complain once you do that, but absolutely insane scenes I hope it continues."
Another said, "Welp, see you all in January 2022."
Errol Spence Jr, the world champion at Welterweight, also participated in the weigh-in. He said: "Damn cannot be countered like this."
However, the fiery press conference, in which Alvarez became angry again after Plant brought up his drug history, saw Alvarez become enraged once more. The American stated that he was not cut from a punch but his sunglasses.
He said, "It's only a small cut. It was from my sunglasses. I was wearing sunglasses. I had my sunglasses on so that whatever happened, it didn't bother me.
Plant isn't the only one to test Canelo at a press conference.
Demetrius Andrade, a middleweight opponent, interrupted the post-fight presser after Billy Joe Saunders was defeated in May Canelo.
Canelo mocked Andrade's victory without beating any major names before telling the American to "Get out of here!"
