Callum Simpson to Honour Late Sister in Emotional British Title Defence

Heartfelt Tribute

Callum Simpson is set to defend his British middleweight title on Saturday night, carrying the memory of his late sister Lily-Rae close to his heart. The Barnsley middleweight plans to honor his sister for the rest of his career after her tragic passing.

Family Tragedy

Following his victory over Zak Chelli to grab the Lonsdale belt in August, Simpson's world was shattered when Lily-Rae was involved in a fatal accident during a holiday in Greece, leading to her passing after a 10-day coma. Despite the heartbreak, Simpson remains determined to keep her memory alive.

Emotional Tribute

In a touching tribute, Simpson shared, "People only die when you stop talking about them and forget about them. I will never stop talking about her. I will always say her name. Although it makes me upset, whenever anyone says her name or speaks about her, I smile and I laugh because I am just proud that she was my sister."

Unfulfilled Milestones

Reflecting on the loss, Simpson expressed the pain of realizing the milestones and moments he and his sister will never get to share, like her not being there for his wedding or to meet his future children. Despite the grief, Simpson finds solace in honoring Lily-Rae's memory.

Upcoming Bout

In his upcoming fight against Steed Woodall in Sheffield, Simpson will pay tribute to Lily-Rae with a special dedication on his kit. The 28-year-old fighter remains determined to keep his sister's spirit alive both in and out of the ring.

Supporting Fights

In the same event, Caroline Dubois will defend her WBC lightweight world title for the first time against Jessica Camara, with plans to entice WBO champion Terri Harper for a future showdown. Dubois is confident in her abilities and believes she can emerge victorious with a more aggressive approach.
