This agreement will also end the long-running talks between the two camps.

Plant and Canelo looked ready to meet each other on September 18

Talks broke down this month when Canelo demanded assurances about a PS28million payout - even though Plant had to withdraw.

At the end of July observers said that the clash had killed '100%'.

Canelo, a Mexican super-middleweight champion, boasts a 56-1-1 record.

Then he could decide to go up in weight, this time to light-heavyweight.

According to reports, Canelo initially wanted to fight Dmitry Bivol, WBA light-heavyweight champion.

He could also return for the Russian if he wins over Plant.

The American boasts a 21-0 record, so it won't be an easy task.

Eddie Hearn, however, believes Canelo has Bivol in his sights if he defeats Plant.

Matchroom's promoter stated that Canelo and his team wanted to fight Caleb Plant. They want it at the end.

"Dmitry Bivol was there, he accepted to fight, he's willing to fight, but Canelo's ultimate goal is to undisputedly weigh in at 168 lbs. They'll [Canelo] rekindle that.

"He [Canelo] loves challenges and to fight great fighters. Dmitry Bivol, and all the other 175 guys are tough."
