Talk immediately turned to Canelo's next steps, as he has won titles ranging from light-middleweight to light-heavyweight.
Stephen Espinoza, Showtime Sports executive, welcomed the pound-for pound king back into his network and named Charlo as an option.
Espinoza stated to ESNEWS that the "two most interesting fights for Canelo next" are JermallCharlo and David Benavidez, or David Benavidez.
"We have mentioned them to Team Canelo and there is some interest.
"We've seen this past year that Canelo has been busy.
"I would anticipate that he will roll into his next fight fairly quickly."

Charlo, 31 years old, is currently the WBC middleweight champion. However, he has discussed a move up to 168lb in order to challenge Canelo.
Benavidez (24 years old) is a former super-middleweight WBC title holder. However, he lost the belt twice after being tested positive for cocaine and losing weight.
On Saturday, he will face Kyrone Davis (27), who has been viewed as a threat to Canelo’s throne.
Alvarez was a free agent and returned to Showtime in 2014 for the first time.
He ended his contract with Golden Boy in 2020. His last three fights were on DAZN with Eddie Hearn, a British promoter.
Canelo is legally open to fighting on any network with any promoter. However, Espinoza has a deal with Al Haymon’s PBC stable and is looking for future business.
He stated, "It's been fantastic. His team has experience and he knows what they want. This is the most important difference.
"They have done many big events and done business together with many different people.
"They are clear about what they want. We can make it easier by giving them options or a vision for an event.
"So it's been fantastic, and at this stage in his career Canelo should have the opportunity to decide his events.
"The team is skilled and we love working with them.
