CANELO ALVAREZ was pictured next to Max Verstappen, as the sporting champions connected up.

Dutchman Verstappen still celebrates his controversial Formula One win season.

Mexican Canelo was a four-division champ in boxing and was widely voted Fighter Of The Year for his outstanding 2021.

It was believed that the sporting stars met at a Miami party where they were photographed together.

This comes only weeks after Verstappen (24), beat Lewis Hamilton (36), to the 2021 F1 title. However, it is in dramatic and controversial fashion.

They entered the final race at Yas Marina LEVEL, where Hamilton seemed to be on his way to victory after only five laps.

The most remarkable finish was achieved by a Safety Car following a Nicholas Latifi collision. Verstappen controversially beat Hamilton with just one lap remaining.

Mercedes had two grounds to protest the outcome, but was rebuffed twice by F1 chiefs. They decided not to appeal.

Canelo was 31 years old when he won the undisputed super-middleweight championship.

He beat Callum Smith (31), Avni Yoldirim (30), Billy Joe Saunders (32) and Caleb Plant (29) in 11 months.

Canelo, however, is poised to make an unorthodox move and move up to TWO STONE and two divisions to cruiserweight.

The WBC accepted his request to challenge the cruiserweight champion. He is now aiming for a title at FIFTH weight.
