Thurman said to Fight Hub, "He's Canelo. The people love him."

He has a large following. He has brought a lot of excitement. He can be said to have cherry-picked some things, but he learned a lot from the best.

"He was defeated by Floyd, and now he is making money like Floyd."

Canelo, 31 years old, has lost only once to Mayweather (44 in 2013).

The Mexican has been a champion at FOUR weights since then, including super-middleweight.

After having his request to the WBC to take on Ilunga Makabu (34), he was keen to win a title at his fifth weight.

Thurman, 33 years old, stated: "Are they greater challengers to Canelo alvarez?" Most definitely.

"Are there fights I would love to see?" Most definitely. Are there any super-talented people who could give him trouble? Definitely.

"Does he need to do any of these things?" No.

Thurman has not fought since his defeat to Manny Pacquiao (43), in 2019.

His comeback fight will be against Mario Barrios (26), on February 5, in Las Vegas.
