Canelo Alvarez won't fight US star David Benavidez, and could RETIRE next year. Boxer Edgar Berlanga says Canelo will "NEVER" fight him.

Edgar Berlanga stated that CANELO ALVAREZ will not face David Benavidez, and could RETIRE next year.

Premier Boxing Champions offered Canelo a fight in a pair to box the unbeaten Jermall Charlo (31), and Benavidez (25).

The Mexican star chose to accept Eddie Hearn’s proposal. It begins with a return against Dmitry Bivol (31), on May 7.

Canelo, 31 years old, is now eligible for a three-round fight against Gennady Gorlovkin, 39 in September.

The champion of four divisions is also looking to fight again in December, but super-middleweight Berlanga said that retirement would follow.

EsNEWS was informed by him that he would never fight Benavidez. He doesn't seem to think he will.

To be fair, he signed three fight deals, right? It's September, December, and May.

"I believe he will retire after these three fights. He'll hang it up, I believe."

Berlanga, 24 years old, went on 16 consecutive first-round knockouts. However, he has been able to make it twice.

Bivol, a light-heavyweight boxer, has been backed by him to hear Canelo's final bell. However, he lost his WBA lightweight title by decision.

Berlanga stated that she believed it would be a decision. It won't be a stoppage, I think.

Bivol is a big boy so I believe he will box. I don't know. Canelo might be standing toe-toe now with him.
