CANELO ALVAREZ has confirmed that he will face Dmitry Bivol in an upcoming rematch.
Russian Bivol defeated Canelo in a close-up performance on Saturday night in Las Vegas.

This defeat is the second in Canelo’s distinguished career that has included four world titles in different weight classes.
The 31-year old demanded a rematch immediately after the fight.
They now appear set for a rerun despite Canelo's plans to fight Gennady Glovkin in a three-fight series in September.
Canelo said: "No excuses today. I lost, Bivol won.

"He is a great fighter. His power was evident and it felt like a good fight. This is what happens in boxing.
"This is not the end, I'm very competitive, I have many years ahead of myself and I'm going to come back stronger.
"We want the Rematch, and we want to do better in the Rematch."
Bivol laughed and apologized for his actions in sabotage of Eddie Hearn’s plans.

Hearn confirmed then that Canelo's fight with Golovkin would be abandoned.

"He will have to perform a great performance. Bivol will have a new level of confidence.
"Yes, we have the plans for Gennadiy Golovkin. It's already on the shelf.
"The big September rematch between Bivol Alvarez and Canelo is now."
Bivol, a Mexican star, lost both height and reach in Vegas to Bivol, who defeated Canelo to keep his WBA light-heavyweight belt.
The contest was scored by all three judges 115 to 113 in favor of the Russian champion.
Canelo now has a pro record of 57-2-2 in his 61 professional bouts.
Bilov won the ninth defense of his WBA strap. He will now defend it in the return showcase.
