A huge following cheered Canelo up to the scales of Las Vegas

Although once close friends, the Mexican and Kazakhstani warriors are now enemies. However, they did not reveal their bad blood and kept their mouths shut when they met at the prefight press conference.

The verbal shots began as the couple weighed in last night.

Triple G, the middleweight champion, is moving up to super middleweight. He weighed in at 167.8lbs.

His opponent, who enjoyed a large following in Las Vegas, as his legion filled into the plaza in front T-Mobile in the hot sun to celebrate Mexican Independence Weekend, came in lighter at 167.4lbs.

The crowd erupted in a roar as Mariachi bands performed, while Canelo was led onto the stage by Latin American rappers.

Golovkin was met by jeers as he saluted the patriotic day of their countrymen before making a reference to their controversial score cards from their first fights, which resulted in a draw and Canelo victory.

Canelo retorted, saying that he would see what happened in the ring. I want to knock him out."

They fought in a draw in their first fight in 2017, but Canelo won the second fight by majority decision.

Golovkin, 40, is not defending his titles as he moves up to super-middleweight. However Canelo still holds the undisputed champion title in the division.

Eddy Reynoso, Canelo's trainer, believes that Golovkin won't be ready to take on his 32-year-old stardom.

He stated that Canelo was better at all things since his last fight against Triple G.

"I'm not being humorous. His conditioning has improved, as well as his technique and his toughness.

"He has more ways of beating you, and I'm going to not say what they are. But Triple G is not likely to be ready for some."
