Joshua set to face Francis Ngannou in March
Zhilei Zhang, a Chinese heavyweight boxer, has accused promoter Eddie Hearn of protecting Anthony Joshua from a potential fight against him. Zhang believes that Joshua's team has opted for a fight against former UFC Heavyweight Champion Francis Ngannou because of the financial gain. Speaking to Boxing News, Zhang questioned whether boxing is a business or a competitive sport.
Zhang points the finger at Eddie Hearn
Zhang, who was previously signed with Joshua's representation Eddie Hearn, blamed the promoter for preventing the AJ fight from happening. He claimed that Hearn knows how to avoid risks and build up fights to his advantage. Zhang also mentioned that discussions about a potential fight with Joshua had taken place in the past but never materialized.

Zhang, with a professional record of 26 wins, one draw, and one defeat, is no stranger to the boxing world. His only loss came against Filip Hrgovic in a controversial fashion in 2022. He is currently being linked to a potential fight against Deontay Wilder on the undercard of the Joshua vs Ngannou bout.
