DEREK CHISORA urged the whole UK to support Anthony Joshua in order to save British boxing.
Since their days at Finchley ABC, the 37-year-old slugger has been a mentor for AJ, 32. Chisora attempted to guide his protégé on how to face Oleksandr Uzyk in September.
British heavyweight Derek Chisora prepares for his rematch with New Zealand star Joseph Parker
The southpaw was nicknamed War by the veteran. He gave War some difficult early rounds and lost a decision. This took place 11 months after War's mate lost his WBA/IBF and WBO titles. It happened in Tottenham on a brutal night.
He expects that the London 2012 legend will bounce back with a new training regimen and coach, which should be confirmed in the New Year.
Del Boy stated that AJ has the rematch against Joseph Parker and he will win it. We aren't looking at any other options.
"If AJ decides to retire today, he packs his stuff and leaves. Boxing is f *****. All boxing journalists, magazines and YouTube channels are f ***** -- even I am f *****. Eddie is especially f *****.
"AJ has lifted the sport up, changed it all, and made us all pay much more. We need to support him for the win.
"When Tyson Fury and AJ retire, what the f*** will you guys write about?" We all need to support him while he's still in the game.

"Everyone should enjoy AJ and all that he brings to the sport."
Everyone outside AJ's circle knew that the 6ft 6in cruiserweight king had to take control of him when they clashed in North London.
However, AJ's assistant trainers gave Watford an unsound gameplan that led to the Watford ace losing a unanimous vote.
Chisora, however, insists that the golden boy has handled the loss like a man. He doesn't need any advice about how to deal with defeat.
He stated that AJ was handling it very well. He is aware of what he needs to do and what he must change, and he's doing it now.
He is a man. He doesn't need to speak to me.
"I saw him right after the Usyk fight, and I told him just to come back and be more than ever. And he will."
