Smith Becomes First to Take Eubank's Punishment
Chris Eubank Jr. expresses his disappointment with fighters who choose to quit during fights, while commending Liam Smith for enduring ten rounds of punishment in their recent rematch. Back in January, Smith made history by being the first to knock down and stop Eubank with a pair of knockdowns in the fourth round.
Eubank Strikes Back in Rematch
However, in their rematch held in Manchester, Eubank, 33, managed to knock down Smith, 35, twice before the fight was waved off in the tenth round.

Other Fighters' Quitting Trend
Eubank's critique of fighters quitting in matches extends beyond his own matches. In a recent undercard fight, heavyweight Dave Allen, 31, was pulled out of the ring due to a perforated eardrum. And just last month, Daniel Dubois, 25, faced accusations of deliberately getting counted out too easily in his defeat against Oleksandr Usyk, 36.
Mocking Billy Joe Saunders
Not missing the opportunity, Eubank also took a swipe at his arch rival, Billy Joe Saunders, 34, who failed to make it out of the corner for round nine against Canelo Alvarez, 33, in 2021.
Admiration for Smith's Tenacity
Despite his criticisms, Eubank expressed admiration for Smith, who fought on until the referee intervened. Eubank said, "I just said, 'Listen, you're a warrior.' He didn't give up, he didn't look for a way out like so many other fighters are doing these days. When fighters like me and Liam get in the ring and we have no quit in us, that's what boxing needs."
