On February 5, the pair will finally be able to hold hands.

The Welsh government has lifted restrictions and the Cardiff clash will take place one week later.

Eubank Jr. and Williams were the first to trade heavy leather in December, until Williams was injured on his shoulder.

After the British Board of Boxing Control had decided to suspend its action for a month in response to Omicron cases, their second date was cancelled.

The statement read: "Following advice by the British Boxing Board of Control Medical Panel. Boxing tournaments that fall under the control of the BBBofC are suspended for the month of Jan."

"Another review will be conducted by the Medical Panel and Stewards prior to the scheduled recommencement in February of Boxing."

Eubank Jr., the son of British boxing legend Chris, has been involved in a war for words with Williams, the Welsh warrior for many months.

The Hove hitman has made it clear that he will make his opponent pay for all of his pre-fight insults.

Sky Sports spoke to the 32-year old last November that it was a personal fight.

Boxing is a business. You go in there to fight another man, and you want to win.

"With this guy, I genuinely don’t like him, he’s said a lot about me in the past few months and it’s time for him to stop saying those things.

"I can't repeat what he has said on social media. But it's hard to remain calm when he says the things that I have. Now is the time to get in that ring and make him pays.

Williams, 29 years old, is full of confidence despite losing to Demetrius Andrade in April.

He stated that he believed he would beat him, and that if he doesn't get me out, a lot of people will be hurt.

"It's one of those fights that is very interesting and I can't walk down a street without people asking me when are you going to fight Eubank?"

"It would be a good thing to fight him and leave it behind me.

Chris Eubank Jr. has pledged to make Liam Williams pay his pre-fight comments

"I am tired of talking about him. I want to punch him in the face. He is an arrogant person.

"I don’t like the way that he pretends he’s here, but everyone else is there.

"He's been saying these crazy things for so many years and I think he needs to be lowered a few notches."
