Novice referee Kevin Parker has been ordered to let Eubank Jr take a beating
Chris Eubank Jr has made it clear that he wants referee Kevin Parker to let him experience hell again in his grudge rematch against Liam Smith. In their previous fight in January, veteran referee Victor Loughlin had to step in and stop the fight after four rounds, saving Eubank Jr from further punishment. Now, Eubank Jr wants a referee who understands his warrior mentality and is willing to give him the opportunity to win on his terms. Both Eubank Jr and Smith weighed in at the middleweight limit ahead of their rematch.
Both fighters express concern over the referee
Despite their differences, neither Eubank Jr nor Smith have expressed any concern over the British Boxing Board of Control's choice of referee. Their main focus has been on making sure that Friday's weigh-in goes smoothly and without any nasty incidents, unlike the previous encounter. Although there has been some back-and-forth between the two fighters during media events, Eubank Jr remains unfazed and is solely focused on himself and the upcoming fight.

Eubank Jr reflects on previous weight cut
Eubank Jr reveals that he went through a drastic weight cut for his cancelled fight against Conor Benn in October, which left him looking emaciated. He admits that while the weight cut wasn't an excuse for his loss to Smith, it did make him rethink his diet and training routine. For this rematch, Eubank Jr is back up to the 160lbs limit and has abandoned the salt bath method, which he believes may have had an impact on his performance in the previous fight. He now has a nutritionist and a team of professionals helping him with his weight management.
