What Happened?

Joseph Eubank, 27, was accused of attacking a 16-year-old near Brighton Pier on July 16, 2022. He allegedly messaged her afterward, asking for "round two".

The Trial

Today, Eubank was found not guilty on two counts of rape after a trial at Lewes Crown Court.

The Allegations

The girl, who was out celebrating a birthday, claimed Eubank approached her and dragged her down the beach under false pretenses before the alleged assault occurred.

The Outcome

Despite admitting to engaging in sexual activity with the girl, Eubank maintained it was consensual. The judge, Christine Laing KC, advised him to reflect on his actions, deeming them indecent.
