Benn is usually 147lbs heavier than Eubank Jr.

Although the launch press conference was scheduled for Thursday, it looks like it will be postponed as they discuss crucial details of the bout.

The son of British boxing legend Nigel Benn, the 25-year-old welterweight, usually competes at 147lbs. Chris Eubank Sr, the boy of 32, has boxed up to the super-middle limit, which is 168lbs.

They plan to fight at around 156lbs. This will be their match at the Friday October 7th event.

Eubank Jr will have to be restricted on the weight Eubank Jr can carry into the ring that evening, in order to avoid a potentially dangerous mismatch.

To prevent fighters from gaining huge advantage over their opponents, the IBF sanctioning body requires that title fights be limited to 10lb.

Eubank Jr. could have a huge advantage over the smaller man, if there are no stipulations in this mouthwatering non title showdown.

Kell Brook and Amir Khan ended their decade-long welterweight dispute last February at a catchweight of 149lbs.

There was much confusion about the rehydration clause, and the secret Saturday afternoon weigh in that was rumoured.

The bitter part of the deal was that both men agreed to pay a PS100,000.00 fine for each pound they brought in.

It was a smart financial decision when both men were below the cut-off.

Similar financial sanctions would likely be in effect for this deal. There is no belt on the line and the clash is expected to be a great PPV success.

Eubank Jr. weighed 160 lbs in his February middleweight victory over Liam Williams. He should be able eat and drink safely up to the new limit.

However, Benn's ability to regulate his hydration will help him win at a weight that is two times his normal.

Scheduled broadcaster DAZN, and Matchroom promoted have attempted to downplay the negotiations.

Ring icon Nigel Benn, however, took to social media in support of his boy and wrote: "This Conor wants."

Conor isn't going to be hurt by this, he wasn't made like that. Let's see what he does. I support him win, lose, or draw."
