Conor Benn vs Chris Eubank Jr fight date and venue CONFIRMED, as the stars collide at O2 O2 on 8 October at catchweight

CHRIS EUBANK JR has signed his part of the contract to fight Conor Benn at the O2 on October 8, and end the family feud.

The catchweight for the pair is 157lbs. A strict rehydration clause will be in place to prevent Eubank Jr, a 32-year old middleweight, from coming in too large than the 25 year-old welterweight.

This fight will be almost exactly 30 years after their legendary fathers Chris Sr and Nigel Benn clashed.

Although the deal was close to being signed by the end of last month, Eubank Jr. - a former supermiddle -- had some last-minute offers to make and use in negotiations.

Demetrius and Jermall Andrade, middleweight world champions, posted on social media requesting a fight with Chris Sr.

Eubank Jr then wasted a few tweets trying to talk YouTube cruiserweight fighter Jake Paul into a fight, which got Benn raging on the internet.

He messaged, "Why are you worried about fighting Jake?" "As far I know, you've lost the pen again?"

Eubank Jr. replied, "Nothing about his worries me. Trust me.

"And my pen will be ready when the contract on my end is correct."

Eubank is now signed the dotted line. There are still a few details to iron out.

After watching Eubank Jr beat Liam Williams in February, Benn saw the seeds for this cross-division show and thought: "I fancy mine chances at catchweight."

Eubank Jr. was interested but put it aside while he attempted to win a world title. He said: "What fighter wouldn't want it?"

"Two legends, their children fighting each other and they're both doing great things in the boxing industry.

It doesn't make sense at the moment, but it will in a few years, when Benn is more mature and I have more fun, then we can do it. But not right now.

Eubank Jr. was an exclusive broadcaster with Sky Sports, but he wasn't happy with their plans for him to fight Liam Smith. So he moved to Benn’s sports streaming app DAZN.

Two epic battles were fought in the 1990s by Benn and Eubank Sr.

They became bitter rivals and first clashed in Birmingham, November 1990 for the title of world middleweight champion.

Benn bit through his tongue, and his eye was swelling shut in a brutal contest that Eubank Sr won with a stoppage just five seconds into the ninth round.

In 1993, the Old Trafford rematch took place. It was an intense contest that lasted 12 rounds and ended in a draw.

Their rivalry was so well-known that it was the subject matter of The Hate Game, a book published in 2013.
