Conor Benn will gain weight to take on Eubank Jr, the former super-middleweight champion

The most likely destination now is the North Greenwich dome, which can hold 20,000 people at the beginning of Autumn.

DAZN, an online streaming service, will broadcast the second-generation fight. The mouthwatering duel is their first major boxing pay per view on the platform.

Eubank's three previous fights were shown on Sky Sports, and they were hoping for a battle against Liam Smith next.

The brawler from Brighton has been lured to the online broadcaster to ensure the thriller.

Benn, who is now at 21-0 at 147lbs will be allowed to gain up to around 156lbs to fight.

Eubank J, who fought George Groves and James DeGale at super-middle limit 168lbs, will need to lose weight to reach his lowest weight in his 32-2 career.

After watching Eubank Jr beat Liam Williams in points, Benn tweeted that the touchpaper had been lit and that he was excited about his chances of catchingweight.

He later doubled down and said: "I am around super-middle (12st), but if my top is up, I still have abs.

"I spar with middleweights at my gym. I like to fight bigger guys. I am excited about my chances. I have also sparred with cruiserweights before.

"They come to the gym thinking that they can impose their weight upon you, and then I let 2-3-4 punches fall and they don’t want me to know."

Eubank Jr. tried to get a world middleweight title shot, but was unsuccessful in securing big-money fights against champions such as Gennady Glovin and Canelo Alvarez.

This fascinating family feud is far more lucrative than the less lucrative bouts with 12st stars such as Jermall Charlo and Zhanibek Aimkhanuly.

Eubank Jr. asked the right question: "What fight fan wouldn’t want it to be seen?"

"Two legends: their sons fighting one another, and they both do big things in boxing."

After some of the worst build-ups and promotions in British boxing history, Eubank Sr defeated Nigel Benn in an amazing 1990 middleweight fight.

Three years later, the genuine adversaries were back at it up at super-middle. They had to settle for a draw.

They have become close friends over the years and went on tour last year to discuss their legendary rivalry on after-dinner circuit.

As the fight draws closer, that friendship will be thrown out the window.
