CONOR BENN will be joined by Chris Eubank Jr. in the middle, but with no half measures, for their catchweight cracker at O2.
The October 8 update to the family feud has been confirmed, 29 years after the fathers' second legendary fight.
Chris Eubank Jr. will need to lose weight in order to be eligible for the eagerly awaited match-up
Conor Benn will gain a few pounds to fight Chris Eubank Jr., his fathers having fought in 1993 and 1990 respectively.
Eubank Jr. will shrink in size, but Benn will gain weight, as he can add around 10 pounds to reach the 157 lbs weight.
Eubank, 32-year-old Sussex star, is more experienced, taller, and has a greater reach.
Londoner Benn is young, by seven years. He boasts a perfect record with 20 wins.
Perhaps that's why he warned his long-awaited opponent: "You won’t fight again after I have shared the ring, I will fight your last fight!"
Rules designed to prevent Eubank's naturally-heavier build from becoming an unfair asset might boost his confidence.
Other than the catchweight, a strict rehydration provision further restricted Eubank's ability bulk up.
This should actually help Benn, as he should have a better control over his fluid intake.
Eubank has signed his part of the contract to fight in a grudge match that may be worth the weight.
He said it in July, "What fighter wouldn't like to see it?"
"Two legends, their children fighting each other and they're both doing great things in the boxing industry.
It doesn't make sense at the moment, but it will in a few years, when Benn is more mature and I have more fun, then we can do it. But not right now.
