Conor Benn won’t shirk daddy duties like old man Nigel as he juggles Pampers with punches in world title bid

CONOR BENN will not shirking his father duties in order to fulfill his world title dream.

The legendary father of the 25-year old, Nigel, would drag him away from his family home to attend the Tenerife training camps during the 1990s.

Tyson Fury, WBC heavyweight champion, has just completed an eight-week camp in which he did not see his wife or six children. He stayed in a separate training facility four miles from Morecambe.

Benn, however, has been preparing for tonight's clash against Chris van Heerden at his Essex home with Victoria and Eli -- and feels extraordinarily good about it.

He was juggling punches, Pampers, and a big smile on his face as he said "It's still simple." It's still great. Sometimes I bring my son with me to the gym.

"Training doesn't make a big difference in my life, because I'm always at home. You can train at home or in the gym.

Victoria can look after my son if I'm not at work or need to nap at home. It's perfect.

"I am at home more often than nine days out of ten because I am always there with him relaxing after training."

South African veteran van Heerden (34), has not seen The Destroyer's caring parent side. He claims he will cause major disruption in Manchester because Benn is too angry and emotional.

Benn, 20-0 Ace, wants a shot at the world title or an all-English pay per view showdown in the summer. He insists that he has ice in him to compliment the fire in his stomach.

He stated that he was aware of how he came across as aggressive and tense because of the way he is, but that's just who he is.

"What I do, I do it with passion. I love winning and I fear losing. That combination makes me an intense fighter.

"But my enemies need to change their script, because they keep coming up with the same old garbage.

"The old saying that 'He is where his dad is because of him' or 'he relies on his power too much and can't box. Van Heerden will get both barrels, Mate. You're a year late, Van Heerden. I will outbox you and take your head off.

Welterweight Benn was at ringside to Kell Brook's February win over Amir Khan. He wanted to get in on the action that night and face the winner.

Brook is close to agreeing on a catchweight match with Chris Eubank Jr.

Benn vs Khan is the most likely summer fixture. However, the Londoner would rather see his once-famous hero drive off into sunset in one his luxury motors.

He stated, "I don’t know what there’s to gain from Khan fight."

NOT KEEN IN KHAN

"But I will fight any they put in front me and it's a huge domestic fight -- it’s idols to rivals.

"Ideally, I wanted Brook to win over Khan but now Khan should just retire. He got a one-sided beatingdown.

"But greed is a horrible thing, and when you're out purchasing PS500,000 Mansory Lamborghinis I can see why your need for another payday.

"I would love to see them all ringside on Saturday, but the Brook fight is what I want because I always want the winner.

To be honest, I would have preferred Khan fighting if he won. He suffered a brutal beating, and I don't want to fight someone who has just been through that.

"But, if Kell wants 158lbs to fight Eubank Jr. then good luck to her.

"If Khan wishes to come and have it together with me, he's most welcome. Both of these just prove that greed is a horrible thing."
