Conor McGregor teases potential fight with Michael Chandler at UFC 300

Conor McGregor has dropped a major hint that he may be stepping into the octagon to face Michael Chandler at UFC 300. The Irish fighter, who hasn't competed since July 2021, released sparring footage while fans eagerly await news of his return.

Is McGregor's Comeback Imminent?

With the UFC 300 headliner yet to be announced for April 13, fans have been speculating that McGregor's return could be on the horizon. McGregor took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to drop a cryptic message that read: "McGregor on 300 seals the deal."

Chandler, who is expected to be McGregor's opponent, responded with enthusiasm, saying, "I accept. See you soon."

A Long-Awaited Showdown

The potential McGregor-Chandler bout has been in the works for a while. Last year, McGregor and Chandler coached The Ultimate Fighter reality TV show together, leading to high expectations of a subsequent fight between the two. However, the matchup never materialized, leaving fans wondering if it would ever happen.

But McGregor took to social media before the new year to claim that he would fight Chandler on June 29 at middleweight. UFC president Dana White, while not confirming the exact date, did imply that McGregor would fight in 2024 and hinted at a potential matchup with Chandler.

Glimpse into McGregor's Training

Despite McGregor's recent foray into Hollywood with his debut in a Roadhouse reboot, he assured fans that he is still focused on his training. The fighter shared rounds of boxing footage from the Crumlin Boxing Club, where he first started training at the age of 12.

While an official announcement about McGregor's return to the octagon is yet to be made, the release of the sparring footage and the exchange with Chandler have fans buzzing with anticipation. Will UFC 300 mark McGregor's highly-anticipated comeback? Only time will tell.
