He claimed that the airline staff's actions were "disgusting".

Khan, 34, uploaded a video to Twitter explaining that he was told his pal's mask wasn't high enough on his face, and that they were removed from the plane together by police.

He said, "I was taken off my plane today by the police while I was going to Colorado Springs training camp."

American Airlines staff made a complaint about my colleague's mask. They said it was too high and that it was not up. The plane was stopped and they took me and my friend away. I was innocent.

"They kicked us off. He was sitting in 1B, while I was at 1A. It is disgusting and disgraceful.

"I was supposed go to Colorado Springs for training camp, but now I'm back home in New York for another night and have to reschedule another flight to get back to training camp.

"It's really disturbing; there was no reason. I am so disgusted American Airlines would ban me from flying.

"They must have cameras to see if my colleague or I were guilty of any crime. A scene in any way.

"This is the first time I have ever seen it happen and I am devastated."

Khan will face Kell Brook, his rival in the fight that could be his last. He hasn't fought in over two years since beating Billy Dib in Saudi Arabia.

Brook, who is also close to the end of his career, had been considering retiring. However, Brook appears poised to settle their rivalry.

Brook has only fought twice in the past three years, and lost his last fight to Terence Crawford, undefeated world champion.

Bolton ace Khan believes his 2004 Olympic silver medal, mainstream USA appeal and Bolton rival, former IBF king, is what sets him apart.

Brook, 35 years old, has finally tempted the former light-welter champion into a spiteful straightener. This should send both of these ring legends into retirement.

Khan met with Eddie Hearn's promoter Brook on Tuesday to try and make business.

The Matchroom kingpin, who now runs his fights via streaming app DAZN rather than Sky Sports, admitted that both men are working hard for the fight to be sold to the highest bidder.
