DAVID HAYE will be tried in October for allegedly assaulting a man last year at a London gig.

According to the Evening Standard, the former heavyweight boxing champion will be tried for two days on October 4, and 5.

Haye, 41 years old, denies that he attacked Nickesh Jhala at a Hammersmith Apollo concert on October 30, 2021.

After a hearing at Westminster magistrates Court this morning, the ex-boxer will stand trial.

According to reports, Haye has engaged the services of James Scobie QC, a top criminal barrister, for his defense.

He will also be giving evidence at the trial in due course.

Scobie stated that the defendant will most likely be giving evidence in our case.

Chief Magistrate Paul Goldspring has extended the trial's time limit to two days so that all nine witnesses can be heard.

Haye was released on unconditional bail and will not be charged for the trial.

After being detained at Heathrow Airport on June 2, he appeared in court to contest the charges.

Haye was wearing a brown and orange check hooded jacket with dark jeans at the dock. His hands were cuffed behind him.

Haye was a professional and won 28 of 32 fights. He also served as the heavyweight and cruiserweight champions of the world.

In September 2021, he made a one-fight return and defeated Joe Fournier in an exhibition fight.
