When Whyte was two years old, his mother left him in Jamaica to give him a better life in England.

His adoptive family took the money she sent back, and left him alone until he could go to South London with her.

Unfortunately, the 12-year old was later swallowed by gang life.

After being shot twice and stabbed once more, he knows that he is fortunate to be alive.

WHYTE VS FURY

The latest news from the HUGE Wembley showdown and how to watch

He was saved by boxing. He was not an amateur boxer, but he did have a win over Anthony Joshua in 2009 that saved him.

If you spend five minutes with Whyte, however, you will find a man full on giggles and childish pranks as well as self-improvement.

Brixton's Body Snatcher will get his chance at Fury's WBC World Heavyweight title at a sold out Wembley Stadium.

And Whyte, who is 34 years old, admitted that he was destructive. There's a lot darkness in me.

BETTING SPECIAL - GET FURY AT 30/1 OR WHYTE AT 100/1

"Because that, I don't need to enforce it or promote it. While I know I can turn it on at work, I never fake it.

"I am an 18-stone, black man whose job is to intimidate people and beat them up.

"My history and my story are intimidating so I believe a lot people are concerned about me. However, those who are worried about me don't know anything and make assumptions about me.

"People would make you believe I am dangerous or crazy."

"I don't have to enforce that. I don’t need to growl and snarl and tell people I'm hard.

"I have seen some fighters, and they have a team around them who are afraid of them. I have also seen fighters who make reporters nervous. I don't want that guy to be my friend.

"We share the same blood, bones, and organs. Our skin colours and cultures may be slightly different but I don’t feel the need for anyone to be intimidated.

"I just want a good time and to see what happens."

Fury's father John attempted to seize the spotlight at Wednesday's prefight meet by standing up to Whyte. A dangerous melee was possible, but Tyson and Whyte cooled it down.

Two-fighter Derek Chisora, a rival fighter in boxing, launched a table at Whyte in a press conference held in 2016. The South Londoner didn't flinch.

This is a simple reason that should keep the Gypsy King on his toes.

Whyte stated: "I am about this life. It's not my game.

"It's stupid to throw tables at innocent people, real men don't do it." This is why I didn’t react.

"I don’t know how to turn it on or off. It happens when it happens.

It might happen 30 seconds before I leave my dressing room, or 20 seconds into my wedding walk.

It might happen earlier in fight week due to something someone says, or it may just come when the first bell rings. "I don't know the answer and I don’t want to."

TEST TO CHECK POSITIVE DRUGS

After a 30-fight career with two losses, Whyte was able to get his title shot.

Joshua was the first pro loser in 2015.

The UK Anti-Doping Investigation that Whyte had been under was launched just hours before his victory over Mariusz Wach.

He weighed 19st 5lb and was distraught by the accusations.

Whyte stated: "I was innocent, fighting for my career over what I didn't do."

"My head was f**" because you can accept what you did and get caught if you do it. "But that f*** killed me because I didn’t do anything, which was proved in the end."

Alexander Povetkin defeated him for the second time in 2020. He KO'd Alexander Povetkin in their rematch last season to set up Fury's showdown.

After the scrap, Whyte admitted that he was so focused upon Povetkin that he hadn't even met his four month-old son.

This dedication is what makes Fury a strong underdog.

Whyte said: "I like to keep that personal stuff private."

"I make sure to see my children when I can. However, I am working to ensure their future so that we can have more time and better together.

Mike Tyson, boxing legend and boxer, repeatedly punches a passenger in the face during a plane attack.
