DEONTAY WILDER believes that boxing fans are being denied the best fights because fighters make 'excuses to not face each other.
Over the past decade, the biggest criticism of the sport is that big fights aren’t being put together properly or being made too late.
Deontay Wilder is disappointed by the infrequent big fights in boxing
Long-awaited Fight of the Century, Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao, is a testimony to the former fact. The fight was made after the primes of the two fighters.
This trend has unfortunately continued to the dismay of Wilder, former WBC champion.
He said to 78SPORTSTV, "You have so much guys coming up with excuses for fighters. The best are not fighting the worst."
Wilder is so frustrated by the fight game that he wants to hang up his gloves.
He said, "Sometimes it's just me. I can't wait to retire."
"I don’t think I’m going to miss it... Once my retirement, they’re gonna be missing me."
Wilder, who is 35 years old, is currently preparing for a Las Vegas trilogy fight with bitter rival Tyson Fury. He'll be meeting Fury on October 9.
In their February rematch, The Gypsy King defeated The Bronze Bomber in the seventh round by TKO.
He's now taking their war of words to another level, calling Wythenshawe's warrior "one of the greatest cheats in boxing".
He stated: "Look at Tyson Fury’s rap sheet. He’s one of the greatest cheats in boxing. But do you ever hear anything about it?"
"They don’t care.
"When all is said and done, I can look in the mirror and see that I did it right the first time."
Olympic bronze medallist Wilder is determined to avenge his first professional loss in a devastating fashion. He said: "My mind's very violent.
"We built a whole facility for legal homicide, and that's exactly what it is. My mind is very violent at the moment.
"I cannot wait, when you contemplate and pre-meditate about harming a male and you see that man, what you have been thinking and feeling will out.
"The only problem is that I must wait until I get into the ring to release it. I can't do this on the outside and it would defeat the purpose.
"The baby has to eat, but when it does get in the ring this is what I love, I can release all I've felt, all I've thought, and get paid for it."
