DEONTAY WILDER claims that he was offered the opportunity to fight Anthony Joshua "as an insurance" before the fight with Oleksandr Uzyk.
AJ's performance was vastly improved over his first fight last September, in which he lost to unanimous decision.
Wilder claims he was offered the fight against Joshua before Usyk's rematch
Joshua lost to Usyk for the second time
However, Usyk proved too strong and won the exciting contest in Saudi Arabia by a split decision. He retained his heavyweight title.
The fight was decided by two judges, one in favor of Usyk and the other in favour Joshua.
Wilder, who weighed in after the fight, seemed to indicate that he was approached by Joshua about a possible fight.
According to the Bronze Bomber, Joshua knew his team would lose to his 35 year-old Ukrainian opponent.
Wilder tweeted: "They tried locking me in for insurance because he wasn’t going to Win."
"This is strictly business. There's no other sport."
Tyson Fury, WBC heavyweight title holder, came out victorious in a three-fight thriller against Wilder. He also offered his assessment.
Fury suggested that he is coming out of retirement, and "is here for the long-term."
He stated, "After watching that both of them were s***e."
"It was one the most horrible heavyweight title fights that I have ever seen. It was bulls ***. You must be kidding!
"I decimate both of them in one night. F***ing s***e.
"Get your f***ing check book out, the Gypsy King is here to Stay, Forever!"
Fury might have his sights set on a undisputed clash against Usyk, but Wilder or Joshua are in an unusual position.
After a break, Wilder will resume his journey in heavyweight boxing when he takes on Robert Helenius at the Barclays Center, Brooklyn, New York City.
The Finnish fighter shared the ring with Dillian Whyte and Derek Chisora.
