DEONTAY WILDER could fight for the WBC heavyweight championship if Tyson Fury does not retire.
After his sixth round defeat of Dillian Whyte at Wembley, the Gypsy King seemed to have ended his career.
WBC chief Mauricio Sulaiman says Wilder could be in the running for Fury's belt.
Fury has not yet confirmed his retirement plans. However, WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman has confirmed that Wilder will likely continue to fight for the belt if the Brit decides to retire.
Planet Sport was informed by him that Wilder is the number-one contender, while Joe Joyce is number two and Joseph Parker is number three.
"I believe that [Joyce] and Parker will have a fight to win the WBO interim title - we haven't received any confirmation, but we will wait and watch.
"There are some variables around there."

WBC chief Sulaiman will not pressure Fury to keep fighting. He recently told Sky Sports that he was ready to support Fury on any decision he makes.
"If he decides that he wants to retire, the WBC will fully support his decision."
Wilder, 36, a former WBC king, has not fought since being knocked out during his fight with Fury in October.
Fury is hopeful that his old opponent will fight for the green belt, and told Behind The Gloves that he hopes Deontay Wilder will fight for it once he leaves.
