DEONTAY WILDER is still No1 in WBC's heavyweight rankings despite losing twice to Tyson Fury, the champion.
The Gypsy King knocked the Bronze Bomber out for the second time earlier in this month.
Tyson Fury beat Deontay Wilder in an instant classic earlier in the month
Wilder, now 35, has not won a fight since November 2019 when he beat Luis Ortiz.
However, after his 10 title defenses that were successful prior to Fury's rematch in February 2020 the Tuscaloosa puncher is still No1 on WBC's List.
However, this does not mean that he will be the champion's next shot.
This opportunity will not be given to Joe Joyce or Andy Ruiz Jr, No2 ranked.
Dillian Whyte will get the next shot at Fury if Otto Wallin beats him later in the month.
Due to their achievements with other organizations, the WBC does not include Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk.
Whyte doesn't have the interim WBC belt, which he holds now because of his victory over Alexander Povetkin in March.
Fury believes that Joyce, No3 ranked, is the best one, despite him facing Whyte next. Fury will beat Wallin if Wallin falls short.
Frank Warren, a promoter of the Juggernaut, said to Sky Sports that Fury's opinion about it was "very controversial." Tyson stated that he is the best out there.
Tyson agreed with this view. He can go all the way. Yes. He has a great ticker and a big heart.
He is strong, he walks forwards, and he is the Juggernaut. You know he will be difficult to get rid of with whomever he is.
He's tough. He's able to fight a little. He can punch."
In 2018, Fury and Joyce sparred back.
