DEONTAY WILDER has finally praised Tyson Fury's brilliant trilogy win.
Fury called Fury an "idiot" after he was dismissed by his great rival in the Las Vegas thriller.
Deontay Wilder wrote a long statement on his Instagram account following Tyson Fury's defeat
Wilder, 35 years old, was quiet after losing in an 11th round knockout. He began his rehabilitation from a broken hand and had questions about his future boxing career.
The Bronze Bomber broke his silence on Thursday with a classy Instagram message thanking God, Fury, his fans, and Fury for their'memories which will last forever'.
The Gypsy King shared this post with a handshake emoticon and wrote: "The greatest trilogy of all time."
Wilder posted a photo in his red gown before the showdown and wrote, "Wow! What a great night!"
"First and foremost, I would like to thank God that he allowed me to share a part of myself that is driven with passion and determination with the world.
"I want to thank my team, my fans and for supporting me through this long process.
"I wouldn't lie if I said I was not disappointed with the outcome, but I have now reflected on my journey and realized that God has a greater plan for me than I had anticipated.
We didn't win, but a wise man once said that the wins are in the lessons. Sometimes you need to lose in order to win.
"Although I wanted to win, I loved seeing the fans win more.
"Hopefully, I proved that my true Warrior status and I am a true King in this field.
"Hopefully, we proved that no matter what trials or tribulations life throws at you, you can still get up and fight for the things you believe in.
"Last, but not least, I want to congratulate @gypsyking101 on his victory and thank him for the wonderful historical memories that will be cherished forever."
Wilder had already restored his reputation when he defeated Fury twice, before finally succumbing in Saturday's instant masterpiece. He did this after accusing Fury of cheating him to his February 2020 win.
Fury slammed Fury for not congratulating him on his victory.
WILDER, NOT SOUR
Shelly Finkel, Wilder's comanager, insisted that the ex-champion actually DOES respect Fury and was open to the peace offer now.
SunSport's Finkel said: "Him (respect Fury) and we have spoken about that.
"I believe his mind wasn’t really there. I think Deontay would give Fury a big hug if he saw Fury now."
Wilder was feared to be retiring from boxing following the brutal fight. He sustained numerous injuries including a fractured finger and hand. The operation will take place next week.
Finkel confirmed that the 42-2-1 brawler would be back in April or May, and is now eyeing Anthony Joshua.
After a six-month ban from medics, Wilder was denied a quick return to the ring.
