The Gypsy King brutally knocked the American out
But Issac Chamberlain, his former partner, believes that The Bronze Bomber will be even better when he returns
However, Isaac Chamberlain, an old sparring partner, believes it will not be long before the former WBC champ long-reigning is back in action.
Chamberlain answered Sky Sports when asked if he thinks that the Alabama slammer would fight again.
"You need characters such as that in boxing. He'll be back.
"I can still remember face-timing him before any other fights. He was in the zone and locked into. How you bounce back is a true test of character.
After his two consecutive stoppage losses against The Gypsy King, Wilder's skill set has been heavily criticized.
Chamberlain insists that the knockout artist is not a one-trick pony.
British cruiserweight, "He's powerful. Very powerful."
"I can recall sparring him when I was 19 years old, he hit me with an elbow and I thought I was back home in London. He is a strong puncher.
It's always his power. It's not his power, it's his speed. He is very fast and can process very quickly. He's not well-known and most people don't realize it.
"No, he is only wild when you get him hurt. He's very sharp and sticks to the basics. He's more than people think.
"There is a method behind all madness."
Wilder, 36, stated earlier this year that he will be returning to the ring. I must, I must.
"I am looking to resume my career. There are many other things that I need to do.
"I'm taking my children away if they come back, because now my life is full of joy like I want.
"I have sacrificed so much in order to be in this place in my life. To be able live my life the way I want it to for the rest of their lives."
He said, "I've been highly sought after. Many people have said to me, "Come back, please." I would say that I am back because of popular demand.
"And the boxing business needs me. There's nothing quite like a thriving American champion.
"When there isn't, you can see that it's dead. It's drought in the sport. The difference is now well-known."
