Since his devastating 11th-round loss to Tyson Fury in October 2013, the American has not fought.
Deontay wilder will be back in the boxing ring October 15.
Wilder will face Robert Helenius, his first opponent since Tyson Fury lost to him for the second time.
This was Fury's third fight with Fury, who won the second and drew their first meeting.
Wilder was contemplating whether it was time to retire from the sport, but his fans will be thrilled by his announcement.
On October 15, the 36-year old will face Robert Helenius in Brooklyn.
According to the Bronze Bomber, "It has been a long journey for my and it continues as of today."
"I was contemplating whether to leave the business or return.
"Once I had my statue installed in my hometown, I saw so many people come and celebrate with us and our family. To see the emotions, grown men crying before their children and declaring that he is a true king made me feel that my job was not over.

Helenius has now won his three previous bouts and is now aiming to move up to the world level.
The 38-year old Swedish heavyweight is a newcomer to American boxing. His career has been dominated by European competitions.
This fight will be the final eliminator for Wilder’s WBC title that is currently held by Gypsy King.
After announcing his retirement, he will have to give up the belt.
Helenius has been a sparring partner of Wilder in the past
Wilder lost to Fury last year for the second time.
