MALICK SCOTT, DEONTAY WILDERN'S trainer, struggled to contain his tears as he thought back to Tyson Fury's defeat last night.
The Bronze Bomber was not without his moments, dropping twice the Gypsy King to their faces.
Deontay Wilder was eliminated in round 11 of his tri-fight with Tyson Fury
However, it was the Brits who would win again. Wilder and his team had to wonder what could have been.
Scott said, "Life goes on, let's move on." He is too serious about boxing.
The ESNews interviewer said that Wilder had the 'biggest hearts in boxing'.
Scott responded, "I would say that this is the biggest heart in sports." Deontay Wilder is my favorite human being.
"I have never met anyone like him," he said.
Scott was visibly shaken up as he tried to get over his tears.
Scott was then asked if Wilder was like a brother to him. He eventually replied, "(It wasn't a) Big fight. Tons of emotions. We almost beat Wilder, a very, very great fighter and a very very, very great coach.
"This was an incredible experience, with all of the emotions that were present at training camp.
Scott revealed that Wilder had broken his finger and hand during the fight.
He also urged his friend to take a long break from the sport.
He said, "I don't want Deontay to talk about boxing or do anything with boxing for quite a while."
"I want him get some rest, especially after the events.
"Even after the fight, he was so tired. He was so focused on training and over the course of the fight, and was so happy to win arbitration.
He deserved good rest. "I'm going to make sure he gets it."
Scott mentioned Oleksandr Uzyk as a possible opponent for Wilder. However, Scott claimed that his man would be 'ten times better against' the WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight champions than Anthony Joshua.
