Deontay wilder will be making a comeback on October 15

Shelly Finkel, Wilder's manager, watched in admiration when Joshua, 32, challenged Usyk (35), twice on the spin, despite losing.

This leaves AJ and Eddie Hearn, his promoter, with a rebuilding project that they hope to start in December.

Finkel is willing to discuss the possibility of Wilder being an opponent on Joshua's comeback trail.

SunSport reported that he said: "He was gutsy and went right back in the fight after he clearly lost it.

"But it all depends on what Joshua needs mentally.

We're open to him taking a break to fight Deontay as a comeback or if he feels that Deontay is the true redemption, we're all for it."

Wilder, 36, will be facing Robert Helenius (38), in New York on October 15.

Hearn said that he had spoken to Finkel prior to AJ's rematch against Usyk in order to discuss a possible fight with the Bronze Bomber, but didn't hear back.

Finkel confirmed that he received an email from Hearn to ring him, but Wilder and Joshua were not directly mentioned.

He is not willing to overlook Helenius, Wilder's first fight after losing to Tyson Fury (34), in their epic October 2021 trio bout.

Finkel stated: "Right now we have one fight in our minds, and nothing else. That is Helenius.

"Because he doesn’t do what Helenius requires of him, all the rest don't matter."

Joshua and Wilder were unbeaten at that time. They tried to negotiate a major undisputed title decider in 2019, but it was unsuccessful.

Despite both losing twice in succession, the public still wants to fight.

Finkel is now ready to work with Hearn again in the future.

He stated, "I'm still open to it." It would be impossible for me to just walk away.

"If Eddie is interested in a fight, and there is a lot of money available for it, then we will discuss it.

It will happen if it is meant to be this way - and it was not in the past. We'll follow our path and they'll follow theirs if it isn't meant to be.

It took a few years for it to grow up. "It didn't lose any glamour at the time.
