Deontay Wilder's sparring partner, Deontay Fury, explains why Bronze Bomber hits so hard and hails Tyson Fury who got up TWICE

TYSON FURY was praised by a sparring partner for his feat of getting up TWICE against Deontay wilder.

American Jim Torney spent two week in Wilder's Alabama training camps, helping to prepare for the three-round bout.

Torney's height and 19-stone frame perfectly match the Gypsy King's, making him an ideal sparring partner.

It was at the expense of Wilder's sheer power, who has 41 knockouts and 42 wins with a 91% stoppage ratio.

Torney, aged 34, said to SunSport that "His power really is the best!" Once you are there, you won't know.

"I was - in an odd way - kinda excited as you really want that kind of notch in your belt, to be able to say you've been there with Deontay wilder.

"His power and ability is unmatched, I have never been hit as hard before." His power is amazing, but I was also surprised by other things.

Wilder can reach 83 inches and launches devastating attacks with it.

Torney stated that he was surprised at his length. Like a lot of my sparring partners, even elite guys aren't as long.

He's very long and uses it well. His stance is wide, his lead jab hand is out there and he's feinting.

I found his length and pace to be quite surprising. He's a warrior who keeps the pace. He is a great jabber, and his power speaks for himself.

Wilder's speed and reach are what help produce brutal knockouts. He is already gifted with formidable punch power.

Torney said: "I've been there with some hard-hitters.

Wilder's speed was also impressive, he covered that distance quickly and released his right hand very quickly.

"It happened a few times and I didn't know what to do. It's a surprise at first, then it becomes a powerful feeling.

Wilder, 35 years old, twice defeated Fury, 33 in their 2018 original, but was shocked when neither of them was enough to end the show.

He was defeated in the rematch of last year, but he beat his British counterpart twice in their thrilling trio decider.

Fury won in the eleventh round after scoring a total of three knockdowns.

Torney stated: "It's amazing, but the fact that he was capable of doing it in the first fight didn’t make it a complete surprise that he was eventually able to get up.

"But, for instance, the first knockdown, it was kinda a delayed reaction Fury, so that I was kinda laughing.

"Because Fury was hit by Wilder, it's almost as if you could see that he knew he'd been rocked. He tried to get up but his body wouldn’t allow him.

"That was me. I was kinda laughing to myself. It's not surprising that Wilder has hit you.

"It's a powerful, fast punch and it set in about two seconds after Fury went down.

"But, you know Fury's strength, he has proven himself in the past, and you know, like Fury said, if you can get up, you're going to get up.

"So, unless you can knock his f*** out as he says it, he'll keep on getting up.

It's even more impressive when you can do it against Wilder.
