DEVIN HANEY’s father and trainer have yet to receive a visa for their son's fight for the world title Down Under.
A fortnight from Saturday, the 23-year old will face George Kambosos Jr. for the undisputed lightweight title in Australia.
However, The Dream's journey to Oz has been a disaster. Dad Bill stopped them from taking off for the land Down Under.
Bill stated that he was still in Vegas during a Trill Boxing Talk appearance. I was unable to board the flight [to Australia] because of my health."
"They claimed that my visa had not been approved. It was not denied. "At this time, I was unable to pass customs."
Bill's visa delay could be due to the felony drug conviction that he received 30 year ago.

He said, "I made mistakes at 22 and 23, Devin is now, and I hope he doesn't have to make the same mistakes that I made."
He doesn't want to take those paths. My record includes a 1992 felony. I was convicted of federal drug offense.
"I was honest and open with Top Rank's partners." Lou DiBella, DiBella Entertainment's promoter for Kambosos, also knew this."
Haney, the elder, has not given up on his chance of being at the ringside for his son’s undisputed glory.
He said, "We were hoping for the support of the Australian government in relation to it."
"Hopefully, that will happen within the next day or so, a few weeks before the fight that you will be able for me to go."
If Haney ends Kambosos' reign of unified 135lb King, a rematch clause will be in effect.
Bill stated that it was a one-way clause for rematches and that they wanted it to be in Australia. Devin does not have a rematch clause in his contract.
"With me not being able go over, it changes our dynamic of what was agreed to. We are true to our word.
"We have this fight now. It is important to win this fight now. Talk to the government after you have finished with him.
"Hopefully, in the next few days or even during a rematch I will be permitted to be allowed over.
"They have a character commission or something similar, the Australian government that overlooks people on the fence so that maybe they can accept them in.

"They are holding a character committee meeting about it. "They have a character committee meeting on it. I was as optimistic about the fight happening as they were when they said it wasn’t happening.
"I am just as hopeful about being allowed over there. We have to be prepared for me not being there.
