Dillian Whyte advised to "quit screwing around" and accept Tyson Fury fight promoted by Bob Arum as pay-row rumbles

Bob Arum told DILLIAN WHYTE to "quit screwing around" and to agree to fight Tyson Fury.

Fury was recently ordered by the WBC to defend his heavyweight title, against Whyte.

They later confirmed that the champion would receive 80 percent of any purse split.

Fuming Whyte protested the decision, and is appealing the decision. This will push back the dates for the purse bids.

Arum, the American Hall of Famer and Frank Warren, the promoter of the British Hall of Fame, are willing to pay a huge fee to the British contender and end the row.

Sky Sports quoted him as saying: "If he really wants to fight and doesn't mess around, he can make a lot of money and show that he is a world-class fighter by taking on Fury.

"We would love to fight that fight. It's a great fight for the UK.

"Whyte should meet Frank Warren and me to make a deal and guarantee that the show will go on the road.

"Come to our table and let's find a way to make a deal. Let's stop wasting time.

"I don’t know Dillian, but I think he would like to fight. I don't understand his psyche.

"Let's have Oleksandr Usyk take on Anthony Joshua. That's contracted. Let's also get Fury to face Whyte."

Mauricio Sulaiman, president of the WBC, confirmed that the splits were made after a review Fury and Whyte’s most recent paydays.

Sulaiman stated to BoxingScene that the consideration for the 80/20 split is based on the purses earned by fighters in recent fights.

Because Whyte was WBC 'interim champ', he had hoped for a 45% split.

Fury's high profile earned the WBC the right to award him the largest possible fight purse.

It makes it unlikely that a fee other than the purse bids can be negotiated with the pay percentage going to arbitration.

If the fight does reach this stage, the highest bidder from all interested parties will be awarded the right to stage it.

Fury may consider other options if the promotional teams opposing Fury fail to reach a deal beyond purse bids.

Arum already has Robert Helenius and Andy Ruiz Jr as alternate opponents.

Ruiz (32), is best remembered for his victory over Joshua in June 2019. He lost the rematch six years later.

Helenius, 37 years old, has a streak of three wins, his last two being against Adam Kownacki (32).

If No1 target Whyte fails, however, it will be the man who ultimately decides.

Arum stated that Tyson can decide. We've also discussed other rivals.

Fury has been scheduled for Fury's return home on March 26, his first fight in the UK in 2018

Arum cautioned: "If the fight's a week or two weeks after? It is not the end of all things.
