If Otto Wallin is defeated, Whyte will take on the winner.

The WBC will order the winner of the weekend's battle between Tyson Fury or Deontay Wilder face the interim title holder.

However, they will give the victor thirty days to resolve an undisputed fight against Oleksandr Usyk. However, the Ukrainian is contractually required to rematch Anthony Joshua.

This means that the Body Snatcher, who was confirmed as the highest-ranked competitor, will be fighting for the WBC title in 1500 days.

The statement stated: "The WBC Board of Governors reviewed the history of the Heavyweight Division."

"Because of the prolonged inactivity of the Heavyweight Division due to the pandemic and ongoing legal processes, as well as Covid-19 infections, WBC has ruled the winner will have 30 days to obtain a contract to unify it against Oleksandr Usyk, WBO-IBF/WBA champion, in order to find an undisputed champion of the division.

"If a unification bout cannot be secured within the time limit, Fury vs Wilder3 must fight next against the WBC Interim Heavyweight Champion."

Bob Arum, Fury's copromoter, revealed this week that he is interested in pitting Fury against Whyte.

He said to iFL TV, "I haven’t spoken to [WBC President] Mauricio (Sulaiman] yet. We will have to wait [to see] [what they rule about Fury's mandatory].

"I presume you're referring to Dillian Whyte who is the number-one contender.

"And that could potentially be a big fight for Tyson - especially if it was held in the UK.

"It is possible, Dillian Whyte can fight Tyson Fury and Wilder or whoever wins.

However, Whyte isn't giving up on his dreams.

According to the 33-year old, Tyson Fury said that he had not spoken with anyone from his team about any fight.

"If he were serious, he would have sent email or phone calls and we'd been talking.

What does Tyson Fury and Deontay Wester look like before the trio fight?

"If he were serious, I would have waited for him rather than fighting until December.

"But these are big fights and big fights can't be made in a matter of months.

"There are many things that must happen."
