Ed Sheeran Ringside for Katie Taylor's Fight
Ed Sheeran was spotted ringside at Katie Taylor's undisputed super-lightweight clash with Chantelle Cameron on Saturday night. The 'Shape of You' star even congratulated Taylor after she became a two-weight world champion.
Sheeran Calls Out Capaldi
After the fight, Sheeran was asked about his own boxing aspirations. Initially joking about fighting his old man, the singer then revealed that he'd love to have a dust-up with fellow musician Lewis Capaldi. Matchroom Boxing's Frank Smith chimed in, jokingly suggesting they make it happen.
Expletive-Filled Call Out
Sheeran didn't hold back with his call out to Capaldi, saying, "Lewis, I'll f***ing have you, c**t." Fans had mixed reactions, with some saying Capaldi would come out on top, while others imagined Sheeran walking to the ring to the tune of "I'm in Love with the Shape of You."
Sheeran's Boxing Background
Although Sheeran had never attended a live boxing event before, he revealed that his grandfather was a boxer. He had hoped to attend the undisputed heavyweight title fight between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury in 2021, but it seems that plan may not come to fruition.
It remains to be seen if Sheeran and Capaldi will actually step into the ring together, but it certainly adds an intriguing twist to the world of celebrity boxing.
