Eddie Hearn claims that Tyson Fury's fight against Dillian Whyte is 'nothing' to do with it and that he'should' have bid more, says Warren

FRANK WARREN insists that Eddie Hearn had 'nothing' to do with Tyson Fury's fight against Dillian Whyte.

Promoter Warren was awarded the rights to host the British grudge match, with a historic PS30.6 million offer.

Whyte has not signed up for Hearn's Matchroom Boxing banner. Instead, they are working together fight-by-fight.

It is not clear how much involvement he'll have in the representation of the heavyweight competitor.

Warren said Hearn, who was rejected with a PS23.6m purse bid, would not be allowed to participate in the fight. Instead, Warren will work with Whyte’s legal team.

According to him, the Daily Star reported that he was in touch with Whyte's lawyer. He is confident that he will soon sign for the Gypsy King.

"Why wouldn’t Whyte like to fight for the WBC heavyweight championship?

He's being paid a lot for it, and it's his chance to fight for the major belt against the best fighters on the planet.

"I don't know why Eddie Hearn keeps asking interviewers for details about his fight, as it has absolutely no connection with him.

"Unless Dillian informs us otherwise Matchroom aren't representing Whyte in this fight. We will continue to work on finalising everything through Whyte's preferred parties, which is not Matchroom.

"If Matchroom wanted Matchroom to be involved, they should have bidded more money."

Fury being entitled to 80 percent of the cut, Hearn accepted the bid along with Warren and Bob Arum, who were both promotional colleagues.

Although the promoter has paid the 10% deposit for his bid, contracts will not be signed until a date or venue is confirmed.

Warren stated: "Work has been intensifying this week on the amazing match-up between Tyson Fury and Dillian Whyte.

"The deposit was received and plans are being made for the big event.

"We will announce the venue and date once we have all the details sorted out, so keep checking."
