Oscar De La Hoya mocked Hearn's list and called him a "casual".

Hearn listed Muhammad Ali, the late great, as the top performer, along with Joe Frazier and Mike Tyson, Lennox Lewis and Sonny Liston, after 'The Greatest'.

Hearn placed Riddick bowe and George Foreman in seventh place and eighth respectively, before claiming that Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury are the only fighters currently capable of complete his list.

De La Hoya, a former three-weight world champion, wasn't surprised to see Hearn in the top ten. He insists that Hearn is a casual boxing fan.

De La Hoya responded to a fan who asked about the absence of Joe Louis, Jack Johnson, and Larry Holmes on Hearn’s list.

Since May's defeat of Dmitry Bivol by Canelo Alvarez, Hearn and De La Hoya have been involved in a verbal war.

De La Hoya claimed that Hearn beat the former pound for pound king by an "irrelevant Bivol".

Hearn was baffled by the comments of the Golden Boy Promotions chief. He said that: "The truth is, promoters want easy fights for clients because they want as much money as possible.

"I am a promoter and I see science in that. I am also a fan.

"I don't mind sitting there if there's a big financial risk involved in a fight. I don't want the money to go to a bad match.

"I don’t want to watch a mismatch.

"Sometimes it happens and there is nothing we can do. Every fight may not be a 'Fight of the year' contender.

"But why would you criticize a man? Of course, jealousy and the fact they fell out are two examples -- but why would you criticize a man for trying to be great?"

"You basically say, 'You shouldn’t have taken that fight because of its difficulty.' What kind of sport are we in?
