March Return on the Cards
Eddie Hearn, the promoter of British heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua, has revealed that AJ could be back in the ring as early as March. This comes after Joshua's highly anticipated clash with Deontay Wilder fell through following Wilder's surprise defeat to Joseph Parker. The first fight between Joshua and Wilder was scheduled to take place in Saudi Arabia on March 9.
Potential Fight with Hrogovic
Although a fight with Wilder is no longer in the picture, Hearn is considering a showdown between Joshua and mandatory IBF title challenger Filip Hrogovic. However, Hearn acknowledges that there are still many unknowns surrounding this potential matchup, including the outcome of Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk's fight in February and the status of the heavyweight belts.
Looking Ahead
In addition to the Hrogovic fight, Hearn is mapping out Joshua's next four or five fights, potentially spanning his career. One intriguing possibility is a crossover clash with former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou, which Hearn describes as "absolutely colossal."
Joshua's Next Moves
According to Hearn, Joshua's team is currently in discussions for three big fights, with the aim of eventually facing the winner of the Fury-Usyk bout. The Hrogovic fight is also on the table, along with the potential Ngannou matchup. It remains to be seen which opponents Joshua will face in the coming months, but fans can expect to see him back in action soon.
