January Showdown in Doubt
In a recent update, Eddie Hearn, Anthony Joshua's promoter, has admitted that the highly-anticipated January bout between Joshua and Deontay Wilder may not happen as planned. Negotiations for the long-awaited grudge match were underway before Joshua's scheduled fight with Dillian Whyte was canceled last month.
On a Knife Edge
While negotiations resumed after Joshua's short-notice win over Robert Helenius, they have hit a major hurdle. Wilder reportedly wants to return to the ring in October, which has thrown the January fight into uncertainty. Hearn revealed that talks are ongoing but mentioned the possibility of the fight being moved to February or March, or even having a fight in December.

Joshua's Determination
Despite the potential delays, Joshua remains determined to settle his long-standing score with Wilder. Hearn stated that Joshua is training and willing to fight in December if the opportunity arises. However, Hearn emphasized that until a fight agreement is finalized, everything remains uncertain.
Battle of Britain Revisited?
Intriguingly, Tony Bellew has made sensational claims that Team Joshua may have shifted their focus towards a rematch with Tyson Fury instead. Bellew suggests that talks between Joshua and Wilder's camps have temporarily halted, with a Battle of Britain between Joshua and Fury becoming more likely. Bellew even mentioned rumors of a potential fight in Africa, drawing comparisons to the historic "Rumble in the Jungle" held in Zaire in 1974.

The Fury Factor
Tyson Fury, the Gypsy King, is set to return to the ring in October for a crossover clash with former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou. If Joshua's potential bout with Wilder falls through, it seems that a Battle of Britain with Fury could be the next intriguing matchup on the horizon.
